Alaçatı Town
Alaçatı is an Aegean town of Çeşme , İzmir province in Türkiye. The most charming small town with cobblestone streets lined with stone houses, boutique hotels and restaurants. Many of the owners have converted old town’s houses into chic boutique hotels and most restaurants are renewed houses with small flowery gardens. ..The town is also well known as a windsurfing.

If you love shopping, you’ll love Alaçatı market. The market is kind of foodie heaven…!! You should come here, because you may get things cheaper. The famous Alacatı market is open until late in the evening on Saturdays.
I walked up fruit and vegetable stands…There were plenty of fresh Aegean vegetables like;
Meaning of turkish; Sea beans (deniz börülcesi), wild radish (turp otu), blessed thistle (şevketi bostan), wild radish sprouts (turp otu filizleri), stoncrop (kaya koruğu), broccoli (brokoli), radiccho (radika), needle grass (iğne otu), mallow (ebegümeci), stinging nettle (ısırgan otu), sorrel (kuzu kulağı), garden orach (pazı), rockling (gelincik), spinach (ıspanak), cibes (the first shoots of cauliflower). ..Tomato called the tiger, came from Turkmenistan. Turkish meaning “kaplan” ..tomatoes are so delicious !
If you would like fresh fish, the daily fish auction is conducted early morning. Market also have , housewares, clothes, beautiful gifts, and much more. ...
Alacati has restaurants to suit all pockets….In my opinion, vegetables and fruits are also “reasonable price”

If you do not fancy shopping, you may take a seat at one of the shady street cafes and drink fresh lemon juice with mint leaves.
Or you may take a tea/coffee and cookie break while walking around there…

Patisserie with very cosy and friendly atmosphere. ..Icecream with mastic is famous or taste the gummy dessert and coffee with gum at İmren Han Patisserie. ..and bring them home. Patisserie is also famous for making these cookies ;
*Kavala cookies (in turkish, Kurabiye) Kavala was the name of the town in Greece. This greek cookie is an almond sweet.

* Transfer from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Alaçatı is 75 km.
* Airport is run by Havas (Land Services). Ask the driver for the otogar and from there take the local bus companies to Alaçatı is 1 hour away.
* Alternatively you may consider to get a taxi from the airport direct to Alaçatı. Taxi ride a bit expensive.
