Çiya is well known in the category of ethnic flavors. It has been on the list of restaurants recommended for years.
Most of tourists who are staying on the European side do not bother to jump on a public ferry to go to Çiya to taste delicious ethnic food from 7 regions of Turkey.
You will need to walk through a fish and fresh produce market before reaching Ciya,
This part of Istanbul is worth exploring because there are many interesting food and commodity shops.
Çiya means “high mountain flowers”.
The owner of Çiya and chef Musa Dağdeviren is the international famous chef. The walls of the restaurant are decorated with newspaper clippings with the articles of the chef.
Çiya has three branches side by side at the Kadıköy fish market in the Asian side of Istanbul.
There are two restaurants named 'Çiya' and a restaurant named 'Çiya Sofrası': One of these restaurants serves kebab and the other serves traditional homemade dishes. Çiya Sofrası serves both kebab and local dishes.
They use seasonal delicacies!
Cold dishes are selected from the self service bar and the appetizer plate (in turkish, meze) is charged by weight.
Hot dishes are displayed on a cafeteria-style counter…and they are served in either half or full portion.... Simply point to the dishes and the chefs will prepare the dishes and bring the foods to your table.
There were many wonderful desserts in the showcase ...
You can enjoy kerebiç local turkish dessert and thyme tea, after your meal.
I chosed these dishes :
Çiya kebab wrapped in pancake covered melted butter was served with grilled green peppers and tomatoes, sprinkled with parsley and natural yoghurt.

Falafel is a deep fried meatball made from ground chickpeas. Served with hummus (mashed chickpeas mixed with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic).
The Middle East appetizer is popular as fast food in Istanbul. Falafels are usually sold by street vendors with cars.

I preferred to eat kerebiç for dessert. Kerebiç is a peanut filled cookie. Perfect melting in your mouth!
Whatever you prefer to eat is great at Ciya.
