I would like to introduce  to beautiful town for readers.

 

 Dalyan Köy’s name means ‘fishery’ and best known for its great seafood restaurants. It  is a  small  fishing village near Cesme.

 

 

Fish Auction  (Fish Sale) : In turkish Mezat

Some fish names  were written below :

John dory  (in turkish, Dülger balığı)

Common Seabream, Coral, Dentex  (in turkish, Fangri, Mercan, Sinarit)

Red  mullet,coral  (in turkish Barbunya balığı, Mercan)

Largescaled scorpionfish  (in turkish İskorpit or Adabeyi balığı)

Calamaris (in turkish Kalamar)

Angler fish (in turkish Fener balığı)

Lobster (in turkish İstakoz)

 

In these  restaurant the fish is being served as soon as  brought from the fish sale (in turkish,Mezat). So, fresh seafood is always available there.

Restaurants are  within easy walking distance  in Dalyanköy.

Town’s people  is so friendly that I felt so comfortably around  them  and I took photos easily.  They  and I talked about fishing

Make a reservation from June  through  September.

 

Dalyan Körfez Restaurant :

This restaurant has  hosted  Turkey’s famous  dignitaries.

As soon as I enter  the restaurant  manager  greeted me kindly !

I heard about the salad is also very famous  and the appetizers are made fresh everyday.

​

I walked up to the  counter to see foods:

​

Aegean Vegetables : Sea Beans, Wild radish, Blessed thistle, Wild radish sprouts, Stoncrop, Broccoli, Cibes.

Meanings of  “respectively”  in Turkish ; Deniz Börülcesi,Turp otu, Şevketi Bostan, Turp otu filizleri, Kaya Koruğu, Brokoli, Cibes.

 

Starter: Pepper Tarator In turkish,  Biber Tarator (ingredients: garlic walnut and bread crumbs sauce),

Seafoods:  Fried in butter calamary and shrimp.  In turkish Tereyağında kalamar ve  karides,

​

Desserts:  Mustic gum puding, Baked semolina, souffle.  Meanings of “respectively” in turkish : Sakızlı muhallebi,Revani,Sufle

 

A break at the seaside;

Sakız is the gum of the “gumwood tree”  which was added to coffee.  I had turkish coffee which  was added mastic  in Dalyan Village.

 

My Impresions:

Dalyan is one of the  beautiful protected  area  of natural beauty,

Thanks to the towns people for their kind hospitality  which was much appreciated.  I will surely not forget..

Some practical information: From Çeşme (Ilıca), you may get everywhere easily by minibus which was very  affordable.
