Asma Yaprağı means  “Vine Leaf”

Asma Yapragı is one of the popular eateries in Alaçatı. The house restaurant is within very easy walking distance of Alaçatı.

Two-storey House Restaurant. When I entered into the kitchen, I saw the cuisine was the rich in Agean vegetables. A Feast ! for the foodies. Traditional dishes were displayed in the kitchen ..

 

I was greeted by the chef and owner Ayşe. All the staff and owner was with the smile and very kind.

 

 The owner showed me what was cooking that day ! I choosed my dishes and I settled into the upstairs dining room.

 

The meal was prepared and two dishes are served; Sinkonta and Çalkama

They are both famous dishes of the Aegean cuisine.  Dishes, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented.

İskonta was being served as a Turkish dish! in the past. Also it was called Greek dish

Balkabağı means honey squash or pumpkin. This dish is called Sinkonto made from Pumpkin.
During the service, if desired, you may also put yogurt with garlic on the pumpkin dish.

 

Çalkama which is prepared with chard.  In turkish,  “pazı yaprağı” ile
I tasted it ; Delicious regional flavors!.. Sinkonta was thin slices of pumpkin, sliced onions, cooked with olive oil untill the vegetables becomes caramelizes a bit.

 

My Impressions:

Highly recommend ! This was a wonderful family restaurant.
